The mysterious withdrawal of Ms. Navita Singh a retired High Court Judge in an obscure manner from the super sensitive probe of missing 267 ‘Sroops’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, assigned to her by none other than the highest temporal authority of the Sikhs, ‘Sri Akal Takht’, is a matter of great distress and worry.
The sudden departure of the Judge from such a sensitive assignment has no moral clarity. It rather leaves ample scope for many insoluble suspicions, which innocuously place the Jathedar (Head priest) of The Akal Takht, Giani Harpreet Singh and the Judge Ms. Navita Singh, in a debatable position whereby it appears, as if they both are reflexively hiding behind some sort of euphemism that tends to mystify the real truth and it seemingly has a pattern that pertains to all other opaque probes, related to the sacrileges of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
The apprehensive withdrawal of the Judge from the probe, warrants cogent elucidation and authenticated reasoning to convince the much-agonized religious sentiments of millions of Sikhs all over the globe, on the issue of missing 267 ‘Saroops’ that too from the safe keeping trusteeship of the SGPC. Ms. Navita Singh, if she subscribes to the ethos of Sikh faith, owes a descriptive clarification to the Sikh community, in her own humble way, as to why she at the first place accepted the sensitive assignment, having religious nuances and then why later she withdrew enigmatically, quoting implausible reason?
It also sounds quite intriguing as to why the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht, Giani Harpreet Singh in an exceptional post-haste manner, downgraded the level of the probe from a High Court Judge to advocates only. It raises many eyebrows as to why the search for an alternate substitute Judge was abandoned abruptly by the Akal Takht?
It is also a million dollar question that under whose influence the probe is now being diluted, if not scuttled completely?
Since the majesty of the highest temporal authority of the Sikhs, ‘Sri Akal Takht’ is now at stakes, Giani Harpreet Singh being its Jathedar has to assure the Sikh community unequivocally in a message from Sri Akal Takht, that the probe would be conducted transparently to arrive at a logical conclusion and no person or persons of any hue, how big or small he or she may be, will not be spared or saved in a clandestine manner in the probe if found guilty or responsible for the lapse in case of the missing ‘Saroops’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
